Awards Programs

To show our appreciation to our members, the Indian River Kontrol Society instituted an awards program to insure that those members that contribute to the club are properly recognized or rewarded. We have two different programs that are presented at our annual awards banquet in January. They are the ‘IRKY DIRK Award’ and our Participation Awards.

      Participation Rewards Program 2019

  1. Each member who attends a meeting will receive one raffle ticket toward the chance at a $20 cash door prize.

    1. If a member brings a Show & Tell they get another ticket and they are still eligible for the Show & Tell of the month award but no cash.

    2. If a member brings a Model for Model of the Month, they get another ticket and they are still eligible for the Model for Model of the Month award but no cash.

    3. If a member brings in snacks that they pre-signed up for, they will also get another ticket.

    4. If a member brings a toy to the November meeting, they will also get another ticket.

Event Workers/Volunteers

  1. Each event volunteer who signs up prior to the event will receive a raffle ticket for a chance at a $20 cash prize on the day of the event.

    1. Once volunteer slots are full, a waiting list will be used to fill vacated slots.

  2. Scheduled work days are where a lot of volunteers are needed, and help has been requested from all members. Each volunteer worker will receive a raffle ticket for a chance at a $20 cash prize.

Events

Each member who participates as a pilot in every club flying event will receive a 50% discount on the following years club dues.

IRKY Dirk Award

The IRKY Dirk Award, if awarded, will be presented at the Club’s Holiday Dinner in December.

The club’s top honor the “IRKY DIRK Award” is given by the Executive Board to the member that portrays those qualities which best represents the club. Current executive board members are not eligible. 

The “IRKY DIRK Award” recipient receives $80 for the coming year's dues and a plaque with the following wording which best describes the award:

“This award is presented to _____________ who has voluntarily and unselfishly contributed countless hours of hard work for the betterment of the Indian River Kontrol Society and who generously supports all IRKS endeavors and has demonstrated exemplary club spirit, helpfulness, and comradeship with fellow IRKS members.”
